Ouya apologizes for shipping delays, credits frustrated Kickstarter backers $13.37

In June, some Ouya backers were understandably miffed when the Kickstarter sensation hit retail shelves even before they’d received their consoles in the mail. Those complaints haven’t been lost on the company, and in an email dispatched over the weekend, Ouya CEO Julie Uhrman apologized for the blunder. “It wasn’t OK that some of you — our most loyal supporters — didn’t get your Ouya until after it was on store shelves,” she wrote. For any Kickstarter backers feeling burned by the situation, Ouya is handing out credits for free game downloads.
