Amazon announces Fire TV Stick for video streaming

Amazon is introducing the Fire TV Stick, a Chromecast-style streaming device that exists entirely in a small stick that plugs into a TV’s HDMI port. The Stick goes on sale for $ 39 beginning November 19th and is currently available for preorder. Amazon is advertising the Stick as being more capable than Google’s Chromecast, with four times as much internal storage (8GB) and twice as much memory. It also has a dual-core processor and comes with a remote, though you won’t be able to perform a voice search straight from the remote like you can with the full Fire TV remote.
