GM plans to sell cars with ‘highly automated driving technology’ in two years’ time

GM has announced details of its first cars to employ automated driving technology. Addressing the Intelligent Transport Society today, CEO Mary Barra said a new Cadillac model equipped with what the company calls Super Cruise, a semi-automatic system that enables hands-free driving on highways whether you’re traveling fast or stuck in traffic, will go on sale in around two years. Barra calls Super Cruise “an advanced, highly automated driving technology” that lets the driver “take a break from the wheel and pedals and let the car do the work.”

Our life is valuable and we all know that but when we are drunk, we subconsciously damn care about our life. Driving when we are drunk is very dangerous. When we drive with a high blood concentration (BAC), there is an increased risk of accidents that lead to deaths and injuries.

Awareness plays a very vital role and sometimes it seems like we need to implement shock tactics to remind people about haphazard of drinking while driving. Leo Burnett Thailand was requested to design a series of prints by “Don’t Drive Drunk” Foundation in order to raise awareness of the dangers driving after alcohol.

Below given are some of the mind-blowing images by Leo Burnett under the name called “Suicide” which reminds us of the deadly scenario that we are introduced to while we are drunk and driving. So, keep yourself safe and stop drinking while driving.

California woman who got a ticket for driving with Google Glass is off the hook

A California woman who got pulled over last October while wearing an early version of Google Glass has been given a reprieve by a San Diego court commissioner. In a decision today, the citation against Cecilia Abadie was dismissed based on the fact that it could not be proven the device was on, reports Reuters. Abadie had originally been pulled over for speeding (a charge that was also dropped), though the officer added “distracted driving” to the ticket after seeing the device. The incident was under particularly close scrutiny as Glass develops from its testing phase to a commercial product. Legislation introduced in three states have already aimed to make the product illegal to use while driving, something that could severely hinder…

Crazy race tests whether virtual driving skills carry over to real life

Does being good at driving simulator games translate very well to real life racing? Swedish digital games store Viagame decided to find out with an unusual test: strapping a real race car driver into the same vehicle as a decorated video gamer to go head-to-head in both the real and virtual worlds. All this took place at the Circuit de Catalunya, a race track in Barcelona, where the pair climbed into a Renault Mégane RS 265 coupe outfitted with a gaming PC and a 19-inch monitor in the passenger seat. Both drivers started at the same time, hoping to finish the very same circuit from identical cars.
