Boyhood wins best dramatic picture at the Golden Globes

Boyhood has won the Golden Globe for best dramatic motion picture of the year at tonight’s awards ceremony in Beverly Hills. The movie’s director, Richard Linklater, also scooped the Golden Globe for best director for his work on the movie, which stars Patricia Arquette and Ethan Hawke as the parents of a young boy and follows his growth from six-year-old to college freshman. Linklater filmed the movie across a 12-year period starting in 2002, eschewing CGI effects to age his actors, preferring instead to wait for star Ellar Coltrane to grow up naturally.

Boyhood beat out competition from Foxcatcher, Selma, The Imitation Game, and Stephen Hawking biopic The Theory of Everything for the award. Earlier in the night, The Grand Budapest…

Retro-Style Poster Series of the World Cup Golden Ball Winners

The next Fifa Football World Cup is just around the corner and fans are preparing themselves for the big event. The atmosphere has been building up for four years and we are now just few weeks away before the ultimate sporting event gets underway in Brazil.

Canadian based graphic designer Jon Rodgers has graphically designed the 19 players who have previously won the FIFA world cup Golden Ball Award. The Golden Ball award is presented to the best player at the FIFA World Cup finals. A shortlist is created by FIFA and the winner is voted for by the media.

Jon has designed these amazing retro posters in order to illustrate the players who have made the difference to their respective national teams over the previuos world cups. He has adopted a vintage retro theme in this project to demonstrate the emotions that surrounded each player. According to Jon: “This is a tribute to those few individuals who have set themselves apart in the 19 tournaments over the past 74 years.”.

LG will launch golden G3 smartphone with crazy resolution this summer

A third of the way into 2014, we already have new flagship phones from almost all the big Android handset makers: the Galaxy S5, the Xperia Z2, and the new One are all now on sale. The one company that’s kept relatively quiet throughout the period has been LG, manufacturer of the much-loved G2 and Google’s Nexus 5. Today some of the mystery about its future plans has been dispelled as The Verge has received the first image of the retail box for LG’s next big Android phone. Originally codenamed the B2, the new phone takes the predictable title of LG G3 and is set for a summer release.
