T-Mobile CEO John Legere reads you a story for his weirdest publicity stunt yet

Seasonal shots have been fired. T-Mobile’s flamboyant CEO John Legere stars in this promotional video for the holidays, which features him solemnly reading a “magical story from the land of #Uncarrier.” It opens innocuously enough with T-Mobile branded Christmas decorations, before cutting to Legere reclining in a plush chair, pipe in hand. Set to the tune of “The Night Before Christmas,” the tale begins with an outline of T-Mobile’s strengths, but soon progresses into a bombardment of insults aimed at the competition.

It’s an odd video, this isn’t startling behaviour from Legere, who is notoriously brash and ready with scathing descriptions about his peers. In the past, he has taken to calling AT&T and Verizon “greedy bastards,” and…

iPhones and iPads star in this intricately animated love story

There’s a fine tradition among musicians for accompanying their latest song with a trippyweird, or just technically excellent video to woo their fans. The latest example of this comes from Ukrainian band Brunettes Shoot Blondes, whose single “Knock Knock” has been set to an endearing animated love story taking place across a variety of iPhones, iPads, iPods, and a trio of MacBook laptops. Apple’s products provide the stage, but it’s the creativity and finesse of the animation that really make this video worth watching. Snippets of the story play on each device for mere seconds, as it jumps around from iPhone to iPad and back to phone. This classic tale of courtship crashes its way through the iOS home screen, tumbles across a series of…

Snapchat lets you watch and create group videos of live events with ‘Our Story’

Snapchat isn’t just for sharing slices of your life with your friends anymore. A new feature called “Our Story” has begun rolling out to all users today, which lets you create and view public collections of photos and videos captured at the same live event  — say a concert or sports game — even with people who aren’t on your Friends list.

Here’s how it works: if you’re using Snapchat at a big event where other people are also using the app, you can choose to add your video and photo snaps to a larger public collection. Anyone in the world with Snapchat can then open their app, find the collection of snaps from that event, and watch it as a single Snapchat Story. The feature doesn’t identify who created which snaps, only showing that…
